Environmental protest in Argentina

PMmedia Adv.
Members of the environmental group Extinction Rebellion protested against fast fashion in front of the international clothing shop Zara in Buenos Aires. The Argentine subsidiary of the group wanted to denounce the negative effects of the phenomenon on the environment through a performance, where models wore clothes made from recycled materials. The aim was to raise awareness about the issue at a time of strong consumption due to the end-of-year festivities. Extinction Rebellion asserts that the fast fashion industry is responsible for 10% of the world’s carbon emissions and is the second largest consumer of water.
