Rede Girassol

The new Angolan television channel

PMmedia Adv.
Presented on November 19, on the ZAP platform, Rede Girassol is Angola’s new television channel. With many surprises, the media group intends to broadcast the main World Cup matches to its new viewers. It is already available in radio format and intends to create a whole multiplatform project.
It came about from the needs of a group that believes the media is under constant control. The project started out under the name Ginga.com - Comunicação, Multimédia e Telecomunicações – before being changed to adopt the official name. At the forefront, the television channel has Hélder Barber, while the brain behind the project is Rui Falcão. In the channel’s website, we read: «Rede Girassol is a media hub that was born from the will of Angolans to do more for Angola. We are a production and content distribution centre. Current affairs are the order of the day. Entertainment is our strong point.» With a view to becoming Angola’s leading private media organisation, Rede Girassol is committed to operating through social networks, radio, TV, news website, portal, streaming, outdoor media and press.
