Aeolus

Luxury, sustainability and elegance

PMmedia Adv.
Unveiled recently at the Dubai International Boat Show, the Aeolus is the latest jewel in the crown from Dutch shipyard Oceanco. The project, which goes far beyond the apparent design, was named after the Greek god of the wind and is revealed in luxurious, elegant lines.
«Her curves do not make her overly feminine because there is a masculine quality to her bold, forthright architecture. Apart from the deck surfaces themselves, not one surface is flat or brutally geometric, which provides a unique aesthetic that sets Aeolus apart,» reveals the company’s director in a statement.
Overall, the interior features well-thought-out, multi-purpose spaces designed to make the Aeolus welcoming and open. In fact, it has been designed to be a natural, private, nautical sanctuary, rather than a party boat that can accommodate many people. In addition, this superyacht is one of the few on the market made entirely from sustainable, traceable materials, such as desserto, a premium vegan leather alternative made from cactus and organic fabrics. The bed linen on board was supplied by Oliveri Homes, which works exclusively with Global Organic Textile Standard cotton and uses non-toxic processes and dyes to create its materials.
This navigable work of art develops over three decks, has a private suite on the upper deck and a lounging area on the main deck. The airy open-air decks boast a pool at the stern, a plunge pool at the bow and a large beach club. The bow is also equipped with a helipad for easy coming and going. In addition, the yacht’s interior contains four guest cabins and a VIP suite next to the gym and atrium.
Other details include an innovative hull shape that features an interesting opening near the bow, three glass-lined decks and a large private oasis for a brave owner. The superyacht is also equipped with a diesel-electric hybrid system and runs on fuel cells and electricity.
It is 430 feet long. And it is the culmination of a collaboration between the creative mind of Giles Taylor (car designer at Rolls-Royce and of other automotive successes), Dutch superyacht shipyard Oceanco (which has built a long list of iconic superyachts, including the 357-ft. Barvo Eugina, belonging to Jerry Jones, and Jeff Bezos’ recently launched three-masted, 417-foot superyacht KORU) and the interior designers at Njord by Bergman Design House, who caused a stir with the Burning Man-inspired interior designed for Dave Hagewood’s yacht Galaxy
That said, will this be the superyacht of the year?
