Cosmetics

Cosmetics industry invests in technology. Have you ever smelled a «digital scent»?

PMmedia Adv.
It has long been known that smell is the sense most closely linked to memory and emotions. In other words, perfumes and aromas quickly arouse our senses to memories, however old they may be. But smell still has a lot to discover. And in this pandemic, when we were unable to leave the house, the experience of buying perfumes became, to say the least, a challenge. So, creating mechanisms such as the «digital scent» has become a goal of the cosmetics and beauty industry.
So, imagine being able to take scents to the virtual world without needing to spend paper on samples. Noar, a Brazilian startup, from the Wheatonfoi group (leader in the glass bottle market), was the first to achieve the feat of providing «digital scents». The company has revolutionised the market with a technology that triggers a dry, droplet-free scent through an electronic device. «Digital scent» technology allows the customer to experience perfumes without the need to spray them on the skin or take off their mask, which has proved highly advantageous in COVID-19 times. And the system is set to gain other uses. This is because Noar plans to use the equipment and also create specific software for the medical field. So, the tablet could be used, for example, to test people’s sense of smell and help in the recovery of patients infected with SARS-CoV-2.
