American golfer Brooks Koepka recently sealed his third triumph at the PGA Championship, his second major of the season, after four days of competition in Rochester, in the United States of America. The 33-year-old called it a day at Oak Hill Country Club by carding 67 strokes in the fourth and final round, finishing with nine under the course par and proving himself to be above the rest. Needless to say, he turned out to be quite focused and skilful throughout the event.
But none of this is unprecedented. Brooks Koepka, a Florida native, had already won the PGA Championship in 2018 and 2019, in addition to having won two US Open titles (2017 and 2018), to which he now adds a historic third title, equalling Gene Sarazen and Sam Snead with the hat-trick and coming behind only three men with the best record: Tiger Woods (he has four titles) and Walter Hagen and Jack Nicklaus (they achieved five each). The American golfer thus became the 20thplayer in history to win at least five majors.

«This title is probably the sweetest of all because [of] all the hard work that went into it. This one is definitely special,» said the player, who has battled several injuries in recent years and even contemplated the premature end of his career.
But that didn’t happen and so much the better. Otherwise, it would not have been possible to finish this championship as one of the world’s greatest golf players, and being currently very close to the top 10 and also almost 3 million Euros richer than when he started this season.
It is also worthy of note that two golfers shared second place in the 105th edition of the PGA Championship, North American Scottie Scheffler and Norwegian Viktor Hovland, both with seven strokes under par.
Once again, Rolex was a partner in the event. The affiliation dates back to 1967, when Arnold Palmer became the brand’s first golf player.
